Report: Samsung’s ‘early July’ Galaxy Z Fold 7 & Flip 7 launch returns to NYC

After two years of international launches and continuing to move up the calendar, Samsung is reportedly planning an NYC event in “early July” to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, and presumably some other devices.

According to a report from The JoongAng, Samsung is changing things up for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 event later this year. The company is apparently once again moving up the event date, with the launch planned for “early July”. Last year, Samsung’s foldables launched on July 10, which this report refers to as the second week of the month. While an earlier release date seems very possible, the timing with the July 4 holiday makes it hard to imagine Samsung could move up more than a day or two.

July 4 is especially relevant because the report claims that Samsung is moving its next Unpacked event back to the United States. Specifically, the event would return to New York City, the location where Samsung launched The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4. The next event moved to Seoul, Korea, while last year’s launch took place in Paris, France, amid the Olympics.

The July event for Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will presumably include a new Galaxy Watch, Samsung’s Android XR headset, and teasers for the Galaxy Z Flip FE and the “tri-fold” device.

Ahead of that, though, Samsung has its Galaxy S25 Edge launch to handle which will reportedly take place on May 13.
